SHAKEOLOGY
This is by on of my favorite supplements (in fact, it’s the only one on my "HAVE TO HAVE IT" list). I gave it a trial run just to see what the hype was about (they offer a 30 day guarantee so you have nothing to lose). Well, after the first month on Shakeology, I signed up for monthly autoship and have been using it EVERY day since. There seem to be 2 types of people when it comes to Shakeology – those who haven’t tried it and are skeptical about the price, and those who have tried it and now rave about it. It does cost twice the amount of regular whey protein, but it’s got hundreds of nutrients and supplements in it, so comparing it to plain protein powder isn’t a fair comparison. You’ll have to decide if it’s in your budget or not, but to me it’s worth the money. I actually became a distributor originally JUST for the 25% Shakeology discount!

P90X One on One Total Body X Review

This was a really great, short and to the point workout. 41 minutes. You need a pull-up bar, 3 balls, and some light weights. He moves us through 4 circuits of 4 moves each and they cover upper body, cardio, abs and legs. And the cool thing is that he does it on the new P90X2 set.

Circuit 1:
Swimmers press, Spartan squat lunges, Rolling V-ups, Toe Raise Squats

Circuit 2:
Crunch Lever, Flying fighter kicks, Row your Boat, Jack in the Box Knee Tucks

Circuit 3:
3 Ball Pushup Extravaganza, Ram, Russian Twist, Skater Kicks

Circuit 4:
Levers, Burpee Frog Squats, In/Out Up/Down Open/Close, Plyo Lunges

I did this as part of my recovery week, so it was a great total body workout. I was UNABLE to do the Crunch Levers and regular Levers on the pull-up bar (DUH!) so I just did regular pull-ups. I wold also ditch the BALLS next time and do the push-up "extravaganza" just on the floor.

The In/Out Up/Down Open/Close ab exercise was KILLER. I almost didn't make it through, and I usually rock out abs without any problem. I'm going to be adding those into my regular ab routine.

Review of P90X One on One Shoulders & Arms: MC2

I'm on week 3 of my P90X/One on One V3 hybrid. Today was Shoulders and Arms from One on One. It still focuses on shoulders, biceps and triceps like the original workout, but it's done a bit differently. Instead of rotating through all three body parts, Tony breaks it down into all shoulders first, followed by biceps and triceps together. The theory is this: work each body part HARD, then follow that up with lighter weight exercises in order to "fine tune" the muscles.

For example, we start with Pike's Press with your legs elevated. I opted to just do regular Pike's Presses with my feet on the floor. That is followed by Alternating Arnold Press. After three rounds of those, then we move onto the lighter shoulder work, including 6 Direction Shoulder Fly and Posterior Rear Delt Fly. Biceps and Tricep follow a similar pattern. So you end up doing a total of 12 rounds of shoulder work and 6 rounds each of biceps and triceps.

Overall, an awesome workout and a nice change up from regular Shoulders and Arms.

And as a side note, as my 7 yo daughter was watching me work out, she said "He's got MUCH better arms than you, Mom. Like, much, MUCH better!" I said, "Of course! That's Tony Horton!!" LOL

Keep pushing play!
